Pilot Grove Rodeo this weekend, July 19-20
For the past 60 years the Pilot Grove Rodeo has been entertaining enthusiast from around the entire area and is the second longest running rodeo in Missouri.
The rodeo began in conjunction with the Pilot Grove Fair, which took place near the Pilot Grove C-4 School on a Saturday night in July. This year the rodeo will be held July 19-20 at the Range Riders Arena, located four miles northwest of Pilot Grove on Route HH. It will begin at 8 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights.
A parade will be held on Saturday, July 20 at 2 p.m. in Pilot Grove and will feature rodeo participants and community organizations.
Rodeo events this year include mutton busting, bull riding, calf roping, saddle bronc, cowgirl barrel racing, bare back riding, calf roping (over 40) wild cow milking, team roping, breakaway calf roping, sheep scramble and steer wrestling.
The stock contractor for this year’s event is TNT Rodeo.
Food and a beer garden will be available on the grounds.
Admission to the rodeo is $10 for adults and $5 for children between the ages of 6-10 years. Children under five are free.
