  • BOONVILLE — The Cooper County Youth Fair is now accepting applications for the 2013 Queen Pageant.  
    This year’s contest day will be Wednesday, July 24, 2013.  Miss Cooper County 2012, Alicia Campbell, will crown the new Miss Cooper County.
    The competition will begin at the First Baptist Church, 625 Main ST, Boonville, MO at 1:00 PM.  There will be an informal gathering of the contestants followed by the personal interview and modeling.  Contestants will be judged by three out-of-county judges.  At 2:30 PM, the public is invited to attend the contest where contestants will perform a speech or talent.  
    Beginning at 8:30 PM, the evening gown and impromptu question competition will begin at the Cooper County Fairgrounds.  The crowning of the new Miss Cooper County will follow.  The Queen will receive a $500 scholarship, 1st Runner up will receive a $150 scholarship.  Awards will also be given for best talent, best speech and best interview.  All contestants will receive gifts donated by area businesses and the fair board.
    The 2013 Miss Cooper County will reign over the Youth Fair July 24st – 27th, 2013.  She will also have the special honor of representing Cooper County at the Missouri State Fair in August.  
    Queen contestants must be girls, never married; residents of Cooper County for at least 6 months or they must have graduated from a Cooper County High School, they must be a United States citizen, 17 -22 years of age by Sept 1, 2013 and a high school graduate.  Entrants must be sponsored by a youth organization, but they need not be a member of said organization.  These organizations can be 4-H, FFA, church youth groups, school organizations, Boys or Girl Scouts, etc.
