Ethan Watson, Connor Thoma and Austin Schuster each had a single and a double to lead the East past the West 8-4 during the annual Midget League All-Star Game last night at Harley park.
The East never trailed in the game against the West and led 3-0 after one, 5-0 after two and 8-0 after 2 1/2. Meanwhile, in the bottom-half of the third, the West rallied back with four runs to cut the lead in half.
Connor Thoma was the winning pitcher in the game for the East while Conner Robinson took the loss for the West.
Thoma pitched the first inning and struck out three batters while giving up just one hit. Austin Schuster then came in and pitched one inning in relief and walked one while striking out three. Meanwhile, after Michael Bullard pitched one inning and gave up four runs on three hits and two walks while striking out two, Austin Rice came in and pitched one inning and yielded one hit and one walk while striking out three.
For the West, Robinson pitched the first inning and issued three runs on two hits and four walks while striking out one. Cameron Poulsen then came in and pitched one inning in relief and issued two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out two. Meanwhile, after Zane Johanning pitched one inning and yielded three runs on three hits and one walk while striking out two, Lane Keeran came in and pitched one inning and walked one while striking out two.
The East also out-hit the West 7-5.
Luke Green went 1-for-3 in the game for the East.
For the West, Cameron Poulsen went 2-for-2 with a single and a double while Lane Keeran added one triple and Zack Brown and Conner Robinson each with one single.
Team members for the East were Eli Stock, Austin Rice, Connor Thoma, Luke Green, Michael Bullard, Austin Schuster and Ethan Watson.
Participating for the West team were Cameron Poulsen, Zane Johanning, Conner Robinson, Will Stock, Aaron Vossler, Zack Brown and Lane Keeran.
