Progress being made on Pilot Grove grocery store

Pilot Grove's future grocery store is taking shape after construction was delayed because of rain. The floor was poured last week.
According to management committee member Laurie Beach, 23 investors are very excited to see progress in the 60x72 foot building located near the Pilot Grove Rural Health Clinic on College Street.
Wick Construction will begin construction next week on the main part of the building shortly after supplies arrived in mid-June.
The building will have a wood frame on a cement floor with metal exterior and interior walls.
Beach said colors for the exterior walls will be beige while the roof and wainscot will be burnished slate. She added that the interior walls will be painted an off-white.
As of right now, there has been no definitive opening date set.
The store operators will be Paula and Cody Tyler from Concordia.
