  • Quint, Carter combine for no-hit shutout against A-Bow-K in Minor

  • Bailey Quint and Elijah Carter combined for a no-hit shutout as Boonville Ready Mix defeated A-Bow-K 11-0 in the second game last night in Cal Ripken Minor.
    In the first game last night at Harley park, Einspahr Construction led Rt. B Cafe from start to finish for a 12-7 victory.
    Quint, the winning pitcher in the game for BRM, started the game and pitched 3 2/3 innings and surrendered just three walks while striking out 10 batters. Carter then came in and pitched to one batter in the fourth for BRM, who improved to 12-4 on the season.
    Boonville Ready Mix also led A-Bow-K from start to finish while pushing across two runs in the first, one again in the second and four in each of the third and fourth innings of play to win by the mercy rule.
    Charlie Bronakowski took the loss on the mound for A-Bow-K, who dropped to 2-13, by giving up two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out two.
    Boonville Ready Mix also had 10 hits in the ballgame, with Elijah Carter going 3-for-4 with two singles, one double and three RBIs. Hayden Krumm was 2-for-2 with two singles and one RBI, while Bailey Quint added one double, Jamesian McKee with one single and one RBI and Adam Klein, Memphis Waibel and Landon Belstle each with one single.
    A-Bow-K had no hits in the ballgame.
    In the first game last night, Einspahr Construction couldn’t have asked for a better start after sending one run across in the first and six again in the second to make it 7-0.
    Of course Rt. B Cafe didn’t go down without a fight while sending one run across in the second, two again in the third and four in the fourth to cut the lead to one at 7-6. However it was pretty much all Einspahr Construction the rest of the way with one in the bottom-half of the fourth and four again in the fifth.
    Drew Sanders was the winning pitcher in the game for Einspahr Construction, 10-3, while Cameron Ray took the loss for Rt. B Cafe, 4-11.
    Sanders pitched 2 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on four walks while striking out four. Ray, meanwhile, pitched the first-two innings for Rt. B Cafe and surrendered seven runs on five hits and five walks while striking out two.
    Einspahr Construction also out-hit Rt. B Cafe 9-3, with Cody Garner going 2-for-4 with a single, double and two RBIs. Darian Williams was 2-for-4 with two singles and four RBIs while Kayle Rice added two singles, Andrew Wiser with one double, Colten Collyott with a RBI-single and Tysen Dowell with one single.
    For Rt. B Cafe, Bryce Harris had a double and one RBI while Quinton Ewings added one single and one RBI and Kaullin Kosnopfal with one single.
