Infinite Creations wins the nightcap over QA.com, 13-4
Although it mattered little as Sell’s Carpet had the title already wrapped up, CARSTAR still got some satisfaction from winning the game last night in Cal Ripken Major by a score of 10-7.
Meanwhile, in the nightcap, Infinite Creations led QuinlanAgency.com from start to finish for a 13-4 triumph.
CARSTAR, who closed out the season at 10-4 overall, actually trailed Sell’s Carpet 3-1 after the first before rallying back with two runs in the bottom-half of the second to tie the game at 3-all. But even that was short-lived as Sell’s Carpet plated two more runs in the top-half of the third to go up 5-3 only to have CARSTAR add one in the bottom-half of the inning to cut the lead to 5-4. Sell’s Carpet never led again after that inning as CARSTAR sent three more runs across in the fourth to make it 8-5. Then, after Sell’s Carpet tacked on two in the top-half of the fifth to cut the lead to one at 8-7, CARSTAR came back and scored three in the bottom-half of the inning for the victory.
Dylan Watson picked up the win on the mound for CARSTAR while Carson Campbell took the loss for Sell’s Carpet, who closed out the season at 13-2 overall.
Cole Meisenheimer started the game for CARSTAR and pitched 3 1/3 innings, giving up five runs on five hits and five walks while striking out four. Watson then came in and pitched 2/3 inning and issued no runs, no hits and no walks. Meanwhile, after Zayne Mesik pitched 2/3 inning and yielded two runs on one hit and two walks while striking out two, Watson re-entered the game and pitched 1/3 inning with no runs, no hits and no walks.
For Sell’s Carpet, Reece Lang pitched the first-three innings and gave up four runs on one hit and four walks while striking out seven. Campbell then came in and pitched 1 1/3 innings in relief and issued six runs on six hits and one walk. Then, to finish the game, Jared Viertel pitched 2/3 inning and allowed one hit while striking out two batters.
CARSTAR also out-hit Sell’s Carpet 8-6, with Cole Meisenheimer going 2-for-3 with two singles and four RBIs. Jake Horst was 2-for-2 with two singles and two RBIs while Ross Hudson added one double and one RBI, Zayne Mesik with one single and one RBI and Dylan Watson with one single.
For Sell’s Carpet, Brandon Johnson went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs while Jared Viertel added a single, home run and two RBIs, Reece Lang with one double and Ethan Watson with a RBI-single.
In the nightcap, Infinite Creations led QA.com from start to finish while exploding for six runs in the top-half of the first, three again in the second and four in the third. QA.com, meanwhile, scored three runs in the first and one again in the third.
Ethan Walker was the winning pitcher in the game for IC, 8-7 on the season, while Gage Smith took the loss for QA.com, who dropped to 0-13.
Walker pitched 1/3 inning and gave up three runs on two hits and three walks. Smith, meanwhile, pitched 1/3 inning for QA.com and surrendered six runs on three hits and two walks.
Infinite Creations also out-hit QA.com 10-2, with Malik Brazil going 3-for-3 with one single, two doubles and one RBI. Kellen Brownfield was also 3-for-3 with two singles, one double and one RBI while Carter Bailey added two singles and one RBI, Dylan Barnthouse with a RBI-double and Dawson Barnthouse with a two-RBI single.
For QA.com, Tyler Schuster and Cole Corbitt each had one single.
