Boonville — A free documentary film showing of Food, Inc., followed by open community discussion will be hosted by the Boonslick Coalition for Sustainable Living on Tuesday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Cooper County Public Health Building located at 17040 Klinton Drive.
As concern for the environment grows, along with a widening desire to find ways to live sustainably, awareness of food production can contribute significantly by encouraging a surge in positive action. As spring turns into summer, gardens are planted and farmers markets offer local food, it’s the perfect time to examine what we eat, where food comes from and how food is produced. What does it mean to support local farmers and businesses? Why is that important?
The Boonslick Coalition for Sustainable Living invites everyone throughout the area to think about these issues and more, as it offers a free screening of the award winning documentary, Food, Inc. by Robert Kenner. An open community discussion will follow and refreshments will be provided. Join your friends and neighbors for a thought provoking evening, all about food.
