Boonville FFA officers attends LEAD training
On Friday May 31, 13 members of the Boonville FFA officer team along with chapter advisors Deanna Thies and Doug Henke attended the LEAD Conference in Sedalia at the State Fair Community College.
The conference allowed chapter officer teams to learn, educate, advance and develop ideas for their chapter. The officer team worked together on various activities for skill building, recruitment, chapter development and an officer code of conduct.
Each and every person present received a booklet with different activities for the team and themselves to work on. As a team they created a mascot for the Boonville FFA, like a sports team mascot, but for the FFA. As one of the individual activities the officers formed was making a booklet about themselves, why they joined the FFA and their own goals as officers for this upcoming year. When finished they went around and met with people sharing the booklets. Then as a team they also created the Boonville FFA officers goals and tasks for this upcoming year.
The team and advisors also created this year’s code of conduct to help the FFA chapter keep order better. The chapter officers were also able to develop and brainstorm new activities for the chapter and for recruitment of new members.
The conference allowed each and every one of the attending officers to take something from this conference. Whether it’ll benefit themselves or benefit the chapter, the officers and advisors took time out of their busy schedule to go to that conference to better themselves as officers and team members for this upcoming school year.
