  • Einspahr Construction edges BDN, 4-3

  • Einspahr Construction knew exactly how many runs they would need against Boonville Daily News Tuesday night in Cal Ripken Minor.
    While exploding for four runs in the first inning, Einspahr Construction scored just enough runs to beat BDN by a score of 4-3.
    Meanwhile, in the nightcap, Boonville Ready Mix exploded for eight runs in the fourth inning against Rt. B Cafe for a 16-6 victory.
    Einspahr Construction, 5-1 on the season, scored four runs in the first inning while the BDN sent two runs across in the second and one again in the third.
    Drew Sanders picked up the win on the mound for Einspahr Construction while Jacob Vossler took the loss for BDN.
    Sanders pitched 2 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five. Cody Garner then came in and pitched 3 2/3 innings in relief for the save and walked five while striking out five.
    Vossler, meanwhile, pitched part of the first and surrendered four runs on one hit and five walks.
    Colten Collyott went 2-for-3 in the game for Einspahr Construction with a single, double and two RBIs while Cody Garner added one single.
    For BDN, Jacob Vossler went 2-for-4 with a single, double and one RBI while Nathaniel Krebs added one triple and Drew Vossler with one single and one RBI.
    In the nightcap, Boonville Ready Mix led Rt. B Cafe 3-0 after the first, 6-0 after two and 8-4 after three. Meanwhile, in the fourth, BRM broke the game wide open by outscoring Rt. B Cafe 8-2 for the victory.
    Memphis Waibel was the pitcher of record in the game for BRM, 4-2 overall, while Bryce Harris took the loss for Rt. B Cafe, 0-5. Waibel pitched the first-three innings and struck out five batters while giving up three runs on two hits and three walks. Harris, meanwhile, pitched 2 1/3 innings and issued five runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five.
    BRM also out-hit Rt. B Cafe 12-3, with Bailey Quint going 3-for-4 with a single, two doubles and three RBIs. Elijah Carter was 3-for-3 with two singles, one double and two RBIs while Adam Klein added three singles and three RBIs, Jamesian McKee with one singles and three RBIs and Memphis Waibel and Dylan Schupp with one single each.
    For Rt. B Cafe, DeAndre Wesolak had two singles and two RBIs while Bryce Harris added one single and two RBIs.
