Nordyne beats FFR 14-5
A-Bow-K packed a wallop against Quinlan in Babe Ruth 14U softball Tuesday night at Rolling Hills park by exploding for 13 runs in the first inning for a 16-14 victory.
In the nightcap, Nordyne scored 11 runs in the first-three innings to beat Fuemmeler Furniture Refinishings 14-5.
A-Bow-K, 3-1 on the season, led Quinlan 13-1 after one and 15-7 after two. Meanwhile, in the third inning, Quinlan outscored A-Bow-K 7-1.
Cheyenne Schuster was the winning pitcher in the game for A-Bow-K while Lyndsey Brown took the loss for Quinlan, 0-4. Schuster pitched all three innings and gave up 14 runs on seven hits and 13 walks while striking out three. Brown, meanwhile, pitched 1/3 inning and surrendered 10 runs on four hits and seven walks.
A-Bow-K also out-hit Quinlan 10-7, with Hannah Gross going 3-for-3 with two singles, one double and two RBIs.
Caitlyn Jones was 2-for-2 with two singles and two RBIs while Kerigan Samer added a single and one RBI and Rosie Lenz, Ellie Monk, Kelsey Bishop and Taylor Fisher with one single each.
For Quinlan, Holly Hinkle went 3-for-3 with a single, two doubles and two RBIs. Morgan Massa had a single and two RBIs while MacKenzie Lutz added a single and one RBI and Courtney Helton and Katie Cooper with one single apiece.
In the second game, Nordyne led FFR 5-1 after one, 7-1 after two, 11-5 after three and 12-5 after four before adding two more runs in the fifth.
Peyton Kempf picked up the win on the hill for Nordyne, 2-2, while Autumn Fuemmeler took the loss for FFR, who dropped to 3-2. Kempf started the game and pitched 2 2/3 innings and surrendered five runs on four hits and five walks while striking out four. Fuemmeler, meanwhile, pitched all five innings for FFR and struck out 10 batters while giving up 14 runs on 13 hits and eight walks.
Kyle Johnson led the hitting attack in the game for Nordyne with two singles and one triple. Kennedy Walker had a double, triple and one RBI while Lindsey Harris added a single and a double, Andrea Jackson and Peyton Kempf each with two singles and Brianna Walker and Hailey Polk each with one single.
For FFR, Madolyn Stodgel went 2-for-2 with a single, double and one RBI. Renee Baker finished the game with one triple and two RBIs while Stephanie Kempf and Jacey Fenton added one double each and Courtney Marsh with one single.
