Bunceton junior Madeline Berwanger knew she had a shot to medal if she threw her best over the weekend at the Class 1 Missouri State Track & Field Championships in Jefferson City.
Although Berwanger didn’t win the discus among a field of 16 competitors, she did place fourth overall with a throw of 111’-0”.
Victoria Foley of McAuley Catholic captured first in the discus with a toss of 128’-9”.
As for junior Samantha Brandes, she had a little tougher time in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles by placing 15th overall in a time of 51.17 seconds.
Prairie Home senior Trever Huth, meanwhile, placed 14th overall in the triple jump with a leap of 36’-11”.
