School board decides on meal prices and BTEC classes
The Boonville R-1 School Board of Education voted to accept the new Boonslick Technical class offerings at a Monday evening meeting.
Boonslick Technical Director, Karen Brosi was excited to tell the board about the new classes being offered at BTEC. This also includes a Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) class, which will be offered along with woodworking.
The board decided not to increase and breakfast lunch prices for students or faculty for the next school year.
Boonville School Board President Charlie Melkersman said the cooks have done a good job implementing the new standards set by the Federal Government. Boonville Superintendent Mark Ficken said prices have not been increased but the portions have decreased because of the new laws.
To pay for these meals the board is also looking into implementing a payment method through Paypal. This will be an option to people who do not want to send hard cash with their children. Ficken said this method will cut down in money handling time.
In further news the the board adopted of Hannah Cole Primary and David Barton Elementary Student Handbooks for the 2013-14 school year.
