  • CARSTAR throttles Rick Ball 22-10

  • CARSTAR raised its season record to 3-1 by turning back Rick Ball Auto Mall by a score of 22-10 last night in Cal Ripken Major.
    Meanwhile, in the nightcap, Huebert Fiberboard defeated QuinlanAgency.com 15-8.
    CARSTAR never trailed in the game against Rick Ball and led 5-0 after one, 9-0 after two and 11-3 after three. Meanwhile, in the fourth, CARSTAR exploded for 11 runs in the top-half of the inning only to have Rick Ball rally back with seven runs in its half of the frame.
    Dylan Watson picked up the win on the mound for CARSTAR while Peyton Keeran took the loss for Rick Ball, who dropped to 1-2 on the season. Watson pitched the first-two innings and walked two while striking out six. Keeran, meanwhile, pitched the first-two innings for Rick Ball and surrendered nine runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out one.
    CARSTAR also out-hit Rick Ball 17-8, with Josh Polk and Cole Meisenheimer each going 3-for-3 with three singles and two RBIs. Gage Sprigg and Dylan Watson added two singles and two RBIs each while Zayne Mesik had two singles and one RBI, Andrew McCollum with two singles, Laben Twenter with a RBI-double, Brayden Page with a RBI-single and Ross Hudson with one single.
    For Rick Ball, Logan Zaugg and Gabe Bullard each had two singles and two RBIs while Aaron Adams added two singles, Will Rehagen with a two-RBI single and Clint Moore with one single.
    In the nightcap, Huebert Fiberboard led QA.com 3-2 after one, 4-2 after two, 6-2 after three and 11-5 after four. Meanwhile, after both teams put up two runs in the fifth, Huebert Fiberboard came back and outscored QA.com 2-1 in the sixth for the victory.
    Clayton Gochenour pitched three-plus innings to pick up the win on the mound for Huebert Fiberboard while Heath Danner took the loss for QA.com, 0-3 on the season. Gochenour also struck out seven batters and gave up four runs on three hits and three walks. Danner, meanwhile, pitched the first-three innings and allowed six runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one.
    Huebert Fiberboard, 1-2 on the season, also had 11 hits in the ballgame with Dominic Barber going 4-for-4 with three singles, one double and two RBIs.
    Quin Gentry was 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and two RBIs while Clayton Gochenour added two singles and three RBIs, Josh Chrisman with a two-RBI double and Will Neckerman with a two-RBI single.
    For QA.com, Gabe Lorenz went 3-for-3 with a single, two doubles and three RBIs while Tyler Schuster and Blake Vaughan added one hit each.
