The Osage Knap-in will be held May 15-18 at the Brady Showgrounds off of I-70 exit 111. The Knap-in is an event garnered around the exchange of ideas, methods and materials of times long gone including flintknapping demonstrations, an Atlatl throwing contest, a display of old and new arrow heads and other primitive skill demonstrations. Stone tools will be displayed as well.
Individuals interested in attending are urged to bring their own tables, chairs, shelter and ground cover. The registration fee is $5 per person and spouse. Children under 16 are but must be accompanied by a parent.
Free primitive camping will be permitted, and some full hook-ups will be available for a fee. Only knap-in related items may be displayed in the designated knapping area (stone, tools, lithic repro’s, Indian crafts).
