Dear Mrs. Pappenfoht,
I am so sorry I am late for school. You won't believe what happened to me today.
Actually, I am having trouble believing it myself.
Today, like any other day, I woke up in my quiet room. The house was quiet also
because my dad had already gone to work and I always get up before my mom. So, I just
lay there listening to the blissful silence. All of a sudden I heard this horrible sound
outside my door. When I opened the door, I immediately gasped with fright. There in my
living room was a spaceship full of tiny polka-dotted people with black eyes and green
antennas. They rushed toward me and took me into their spaceship. I was so frightened
and yet somewhat intrigued. It must have been the writer in me - enjoying the adventure
to write about later. So anyway, when they closed the door and somehow magically flew
away, I was fully aware of the magnitude of this experience.
Then suddenly I was dropped off onto what must have been their planet. It felt weird because I was unable to see any light at all except a faint glow of blue in the distance. As I walked toward the
glow all I could feel were fluffy clouds, or at least that's what I thought they were. When I
reached the glow, I heard a faint voice in the distance. I was having a hard time hearing
what was said. Then with a snap the fluffy clouds smacked me in the face and was
ripped away from me. At that instant I heard with great clarity, "Antonio, get up I over
slept!" As my mom grabbed my blanket and yanked it off, there i was in my own room
with only the blue light on the tv screen illuminating my room.
So, you see, Mrs. Pappenfoht, I could say I was late because I simply overslept, but it is
much more useful for this writer to say I went to another planet instead of your English
Antonio, or better know as Prork
