  • CCB edges CARSTAR 5-4 in 10U softball

  • Citizen’s Community Bank rallied from a one-run deficit after 3 1/2 by outscoring CARSTAR 3-0 for the rest of the game for a 5-4 win last night in Babe Ruth 10U softball at Lions park.
    In the nightcap, Walmart defeated Infinite Creations by a score of 3-1.
    CCB, 2-2 on the season, jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom-half of the second only to have CARSTAR rally back with three runs in the top-half of the fourth to go up by a score of 3-2. However it was pretty much all CCB the rest of the way with two runs in the bottom-half of the fourth and one again in the fifth for the victory.
    Carson Dee pitched the first-four innings in the game for CCB while Ashlyn Twenter threw one inning in relief for the save.
    For CARSTAR, who dropped to 3-2 on the season, Krista Monnig pitched the first-three innings while Alexis Albin threw two innings in relief.
    CCB also out-hit CARSTAR 15-12, with Tiffany Puryear going 3-for-3 with three singles. Abby Maupin and Alexis Trigg each had two singles and one RBI while Madison Henderson and Carson Dee added two singles each, Hayden Wright with one single and two RBIs and Taylor Simmons, Ashlyn Twenter and Aunaka Hawkins with one single apiece.
    For CARSTAR, Alexis Albin, Alyson Blank and Hannah Coffelt each had two singles while Kennedy Renfrow added one double and two RBIs, McKinzie Elliott with one single and two RBIs and Krista Monnig, Kali Corbitt, Taryn Johnson and Alexis Davis with one single each.
    In the nightcap, Walmart scored all three runs in the top-half of the second to garner the victory. Infinite Creations, meanwhile, scored its only run in the fifth.
    Brooke Eichelberger pitched all five innings for Walmart, 1-4 on the season. For IC, Abby Schupp pitched the first-three innings while Natalie Rentel pitched two innings.
    Jordan Birk led all hitters in the game for Walmart with a double and two RBIs while Chassidy Taylor had a single and one RBI and Bryanna Jones and Rachel Massa each with one single.
    For IC, 2-2 on the season, Danae Lammers had a single and one RBI while Abby Schupp, Rae Grunden, Kassidy Monteer and Shelby Northern finished the game with one single each.
