Individuals who travel along Highway 87 will be seeing some major improvements. With work already beginning, it is slated to last through this summer. The work will stretch 29 miles from Boonville all the way to California in Moniteau County.
In addition to widening the shoulders on both sides, rumble strips will also be installed. One lane of Highway 87 will be closed as work progresses. Work will include major ground work as ditches will also have to be moved to accommodate the widening.
The final results will look much like the highway looks in Boonville, a shoulder that is wide enough to safely park a car.
