A Kentucky Derby Party was at Cooper's Oak Winery on the evening of Saturday, May 4. The party was held to help raise funds and awareness for the building of a new library in Boonville.
While the event was centered around the Kentucky Derby, it also brought live music by jazz guitarist Joseph Armetta along with saxophone player Justin Conklin.
Events of the night included two drawings, which included a 50-50 split between the winner and money raised for the building fund that evening. This process worked by purchasing tickets for $1 or six tickets for $5, participants then bet on the horse of their choice. All participants who bet on the winning horse, would be in the drawing for the 50-50 split.
Jo Kolks and Tony Suarez shared their half of the $32 raised that evening.
Ladies who wore hats befitting a day at the Derby were entered in a drawing for a bottle of wine and a gift basket of goodies.
