  • Since I have been gone for a week in Cancun, I am just now getting back in the groove and finding out the changes and things going on in Boonville sports.
    Boonville sophomore Brett Windsor is playing in the Class 3 Sectional Tournament today in Warrenton. Also, Bunceton, Prairie Home, New Franklin and Pilot Grove are competing in the Class 1 District 5 Track Meet today in Marshall. On the subject of track, the Boonville boys and girls track teams will compete in the NCMC Tournament today in Kirksville starting at 3:30 p.m.
    Boonville Athletic Director Chris Shikles said the soccer match today against Kirksville at the BHS Sports Complex will start at 4 p.m. with the varsity playing first, followed by the JV match. Shikles said the conference tennis tournament scheduled last week has been canceled for the year.
    On Wednesday, the Boonville Pirates baseball team will host the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tigers on Senior-Parents Night starting at 5 p.m. Also, on Wednesday, the Boonville Lady Pirates soccer team will travel to Fulton for a make-up game starting at 5 p.m.
