National Day of Prayer to be observed locally

The National Day of Prayer will be observed Thursday, May 2, from 12:15 -12:45 p.m. at the flagpole in front of the City Council chambers, 525 E. Spring Street in Boonville.
According to, the day of prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.
