LSE seventh graders Gabe Kaiser, Jaylen Butner and Camryn Monteer couldn’t have asked for a better weekend last Saturday while competing in the NCMC Track Meet at Kirksville.
While going up against schools from their conference (Mexico, Kirksville, Fulton, Hannibal, Moberly and Marshall), Kaiser won the long jump with a leap of 15’-5” while Butner finished first in the high jump with a leap of 5’-2”. As for Monteer, the LSE seventh grader won the high jump with a jump of 4’-6”.
In the final-team standings for the LSE boys seventh grade track team, Mexico captured first with 166 points. Kirksville finished second with 131.5 points, followed by Hannibal with 117 points, Boonville fourth with 67 points, Moberly fifth with 44.5 points, Marshall sixth with 32 points and Fulton seventh with 10 points.
For the LSE boys eighth grade track team, Hannibal ran away with the title with 168 points. Kirksville finished second with 135 points, followed by Mexico and Fulton tied with 54 points, Boonville fifth with 28 points, Marshall sixth with 27 points and Moberly seventh with 10 points.
In the girls seventh grade division, Hannibal won the title with 159 points. Kirksville finished second with 134.5 points, followed by Mexico with 81, Moberly with 66.5, Fulton with 59, Boonville with 56 and Marshall with 46.
As for the girls eighth grade division, Hannibal accumulated 201 points to capture first. Kirksville finished second with 127, followed by Moberly with 87, Mexico with 54, Fulton with 36, Boonville with 24 and Marshall with 16.
Third place finishers in the meet for LSE were: (7th girls) Blake Allison, 1600-meter run, 6:28.08, 800-meter run, 2:45.50; Camryn Monteer, 200-meter dash, :29.79; (7th boys) Gabe Kaiser, 110-meter hurdles, :18.26; 4 x 200-meter relay, 1:54.74; Skyler Blumhorst, 1600-meter run, 6:07.97; (8th boys) Zac Ruffolo, high jump, 5’-0”.
Fourth place finishers were: (7th girls) Camryn Monteer, 100-meter dash, :14.27; 4 x 200-meter relay, 2:17.48; (7th boys) Jaylen Butner, 110-meter hurdles, :18.64; 4 x 100-meter relay, :54.92; Adam Edler, 200-meter dash, :28.97.
Fifth place finishers were: (7th girls) 4 x 100-meter relay, 1:05.93; 4 x 400-meter relay, 5:32.98; (7th boys) Caleb Jones, triple jump, 25’-6”; Skyler Blumhorst, 800-meter run, 2:52.26; (8th girls) Kyndall Jones, 100-meter dash, :14.83; 4 x 200-meter relay, 2:09.09; Natalie Bishop, 800-meter run, 3:03.57; (8th boys) Austin Wray, triple jump, 27’-4 1/2”; Justin Masterson, high jump, 4’-8”; 4 x 400-meter relay, 4:35.73.
Sixth place finishers were: Mckenzie Lutz, long jump, 10’-11”; McKenna Stumph, triple jump, 22’-7”; Kyleigh Skoufos, high jump, 3’-8”; (8th girls) Taylor Fisher, triple jump, 25’-0”; Kyndall Jones, 200-meter dash, :31.56; (8th boys) Giovanni Strickland, triple jump, 27’-4”.
Seventh place finishers were: (7th girls) McKenna Stumph, 75 meter hurdles, :15.80; (7th boys) Ben Eichelberger, long jump, 12’-8 1/2”; Adam Edler, 100-meter dash, :13.90; (8th girls) Tyana Shelby, 100-meter dash, :15.82; (8th boys) Justin Masterson, 1600-meter run, 5:49.96, 800-meter run, 2:38.66; Austin Wray, 400-meter dash, 1:07.20.
