  • Lang, Ruffolo place first in Fulton Invitational

  • LSE’s Riley Lang and Zac Ruffolo captured first place finishes while competing in the Fulton Invitational Track Meet last Tuesday in Fulton.
    While competing against a field of seven teams, Lang captured first in the triple jump with a leap of 33’-8” while Ruffolo won the  high jump with a jump of 5’-2”.
    LSE boys and girls track coach Seth Brimer commented on the meet and said the kids are getting in a groove now and finally settling down in their events. “We are seeing lots of improvement,” Brimer said. “The kids are very excited to compete and win.”
    Second place finishers for LSE were Gabe Kaiser in the hurdles in a time of 17.96 seconds and Camryn Monteer in the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.98 seconds.
    Third place finishers were Jaylen Butner in the high jump at 5’-2”, the boys 7th grade 4 x 200-meter relay team in 1:56.35, Justin Masterson in the 800-meter run in 2:34.69, the girls 8th grade 4 x 200-meter relay team in 2:07.49, Blake Allison in the 800-meter run in 2:51.38 and Camryn Monteer in the 200-meter dash in 29.72 seconds.
    Fourth place finishers were Camryn Monteer in the high jump at 4’-4”, Blake Allison in the 1600-meter run in 6:30.64, Kyndall Jones in the 200-meter dash in 30.59, the girls 7th grade 4 x 400-meter relay team in 5:34, Gabe Kaiser in the long jump at 16’-3”, the boys 7th grade 4 x 100-meter relay team in 55.30 seconds and the boys 8th grade 4 x 400-meter relay team in a time of 4:32.
    Fifth place finishers were Kyndall Jones in the 100-meter dash in 14.50 seconds, the girls 7th grade 4 x 200-meter relay team in 2:13.02, Tyana Shelby in the 200-meter dash in 31.75 seconds, Makiah Waibel in the triple jump at 30’-7” and Zac Ruffolo in the 400-meter dash in 1:06.03.
    Sixth place finishers were Aireonna Key in the shot put with a toss of 26’-3”, Jaylen Butner in the hurdles in 19.64 seconds and the boys 8th grade 4 x 100-meter relay team in 55.67 seconds.
    Seventh place finishers were Taylor Fisher in the triple jump with a leap of 25’-1”, Kate Peterson in the high jump at 4’-2”, the girls 7th grade 4 x 100-meter relay team in 1:06.61 and Justin Masterson in the 1600-meter run in 5:54.23.
    Eighth place finishers were McKenna Stumph in the triple jump with a leap of 22’-9”, Jasmine Jackson in the discus with a toss of 57’-1”, Tyana Shelby in the 100-meter dash in 14.98 seconds, Natalie Bishop in the 800-meter run in 3:14.95, Alan Swires in the discus with a throw of 71’-2”, Jaylen Butner in the 100-meter dash in 13.34 seconds and Joel Concannon in the 800-meter run in a time of 3:42.22.
