  • On April 11, 2013 the Boonville Police Department, Cooper County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, M.U.S.T.A.N.G. Drug Task Force, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Cooper County Sheriff's Department, and the United States Postal Inspector's Office in a joint investigation seized Marijuana which was shipped via the United States Postal Service.
The Postal Inspectors Office alerted the agencies to a suspicious delivery being made to a residence in Boonville. The packages were intercepted and search warrants were obtained for the packages. The packages contained over twenty pounds of high grade marijuana with a street value of over $100,000.00.
No arrests were made at this time but we were able to stop the sale of these drugs in our community. The investigation is ongoing and charges could be filed at a later date.
Chief Welliver stated that the cooperation between agencies involved was vital in this investigation and wishes to thank each agency. We will continue to work hard to investigate the sales and use of drugs in our community.
We would encourage the citizens of Boonville and Cooper County to call their law enforcement agency or 911 if they notice any suspicious activity in the neighborhoods.
