Senior Bailey Pfeiffer gets the hat trick with four goals

The Boonville Lady Pirates soccer team unleashed a world of hurt on the Oak Grove Lady Panthers last night in a varsity only match at the BHS Sports Complex.
While scoring only four goals through the first-four matches, the Lady Pirates doubled that output and more last night with a nine-goal performance in a 9-1 win over Oak Grove.
With five different players scoring in the match for Boonville, the Lady Pirates also improved to 3-2 on the season with the win.
“Luckily, we got out of our scoring slump; hopefully, we can keep that going,” stated Boonville coach Tim Brown. “Other than a few defensive hiccups, we stayed relatively organized, and we did not allow the Lady Panthers many chances. On the other hand, we could have had several more. Senior forward Bailey Pfeiffer had her most productive attacking game ever, with four goals and an assist.”
The Lady Pirates were so dominant in the match that they could have stopped at the half and still won the match against Oak Grove while leading 3-0.
While finishing the match with 37 shot attempts and 18 shots on goal, the defense also held Oak Grove in-check with just five attempts and three shots on goal.
Nonetheless, this was a night to remember for the Lady Pirates with nine goals and the hat trick by senior Bailey Pfeiffer, who scored all four goals in the second half.
Of course it all started at the 11:59 mark in the first half when junior Brittany Perry assisted freshman Cali Jo McAreavy on a goal from 18 yards out to make it 1-0. Then, at the 18:34 mark, Sophie Taube assisted Perry on a straight on shot from approximately 10 yards out to make it 2-0.
The Lady Pirates weren’t done, though. With 10 minutes remaining in the half, Boonville added a third goal when senior McKenna McAreavy assisted Kelly Vest, another senior, on a goal in a crowd of Oak Grove players from 8 yards out to extend the lead to 3-0 at the half.
The second half was a carbon copy of the first 40 minutes as Boonville scored often, starting with a goal at the 49 minute mark on an assist from Sophie Taube to Perry from 20 yards out.
Pfeiffer took over after that with the first of her four goals at the 53 minute mark on an assist from Allie Dowling directly in front of the net. Then, at the 57 minute mark, Pfeiffer scored again on an assist from Cali Jo McAreavy from 8 yards out to push the lead to 6-0.
Meanwhile, after Oak Grove scored its only goal of the match at the 59 minute mark, Boonville came back and added three more goals. Pfeiffer tacked on her second goal on a corner shot from 5 yards out at the 71 minute mark. Then, at the 77 minute mark, Allie Dowling assisted Pfeiffer on a shot 15 yards out to extend the lead to 8-1.
Pfeiffer and Dowling then teamed up again, this time with Dowling scoring on an assist at the 79 minute mark on a straight shot 25 yards out.
The Lady Pirates also had 10 fouls in the match compared to eight for Oak Grove. Three bookings were also called last night, two by Oak Grove and one by Boonville.
As for saves in the match, junior goalie Cassidy Renfrow had two.
