The Boonville Cal Ripken League is hosting a free Pitch, Hit and Run competition for all area youth.
Pitch, Hit and Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. This program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete free of charge in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills.
Competitors will be divided into four groups: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14; and have the opportunity to advance through four levels of competition, including team championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2013 MLB All-Star Game.
Participant’s age will be determined by what their actual age will be on or before July 27, 2012. They must provide a copy of a valid birth certificate for age verification.
All interested participants must submit a signed registration/waiver form prior to the competition. The competition will be held on Sunday, April 21st at the Boonville High School practice field starting at 1 p.m.
Checkpoints will be made available at the Cal Ripken Field prior to the competition to obtain your registration/waiver form and secure your spot in the competition. The checkpoints will be as follows: Saturday, March 30th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or prior to the competition itself on April 21st.
