Battleship wins Grand National

Smaller than the other horses, Battleship was nick-named American Pony by the Brits and started the Grand National at 40 to 1 odds. On March 25, 1938, Battleship became the first American bred and American owned winner of the Grand National Steeplechase Race at Aintree.
