The Youth Trap League at River Hills Sporting Clays in Boonville officially came to a close on Sunday, March 10th.
The League was to be six weeks long but one week had to be canceled because of the snow.
Austin Day from Boonville won first place in the A division with a five week score of 205, followed by Adam Winter of Columbia and Blake Calvert of Hallsville.
In the B division, Tyler McMahan of Hallsville captured first place. Second place was won by Collin Maier of Boonville, followed by Kellen Smith of Columbia.
The team event was won by the South Side Boone County team. The members of this team were: Joe Stevens of Hartsburg, Adam Winter of Columbia, Nathan Walls of Ashland, Kellen Smith of Columbia and Tyler McMahan of Hallsville.
There were 25 individuals who participated. Participants were from Boonville, Fayette, Hallsville, Columbia, and Ashland. Participants in this league were not required to be a FFA member or 4-H. Most of the shooters from Boonville were FFA members. The Fayette team was a mixed of FFA, 4-H and a member who just wanted to participate. The teams from Boone County were all 4-H members. Their coach really felt that this was a big help in getting the team started before the 4-H shooting season started. It gave them the advantage of practice, practicing under stress and for the new members, connecting with the previous team members.
