The Boonville Youth Wrestling Club had a productive weekend at the Missouri USA District 3 Wrestling Championships in Oak Grove High School by qualifying 14 out of 17 wrestlers.
According to Kristina Hahn, 350 wrestlers competed in the tournament from 24 clubs with the top six wrestlers in each bracket advancing to the Regional Tournament to be held on Saturday, March 16th at Lee’s Summit West High School.
In all, Boonville had five first-place finishers along with six second-place finishers, two thirds and one sixth place finisher.
Capturing first place for Boonville were Hunter Tarr at 10U, 60 pounds, Gaige Offineer at 10U, 150 pounds, Charlie Pumel at 12U, 110-pounds, Sean White at 12U, 140-pounds and Landon Bail at 14U, 235-pounds.
Second-place finishers for Boonville were Peyton Hahn at 8U, 100-pounds, Hayden Tarr at 10U, 55 pounds, Thomas Grathwohl at 14U, 75 pounds, Klayton Anderson at 14U, 105 pounds, Lucas Gerke at 14U, 155 pounds and Keandre Anderson at 14U, 165 pounds.
Wyatt Grizzle placed third in the tournament at 14U, 135-pounds, as did Joel Concannon at 14U, 145 pounds.
Blake Paulson was the only sixth place finisher for Boonville at 12U, 115 pounds.
Also participating in the tournament were Gage Allison and Ethan Gunderson at 10U, 75 pounds and Tyson White at 8U, 55 pounds.
