  • Soul food was on the menu at the 31st Annual Soul Food Dinner held by the CCBC or Concerned Citizens for the Black Community. The dinner took place on Saturday after being postponed for one week because of the weather.
    CCBC President Terrance Crook said between 175-200 people showed up for the event. He also said the people liked the fried chicken and fried pork chops the best.
    The dinner also boasted many area volunteers who decided to spend their Saturday helping others.
    "I want to thank everyone who helped with the event," Crook said.
    The CCBC is an organization that seeks and organizes activities of educational and recreational natures not available in the community which will enhance the quality of life for the community.
