Boonville wrestlers Lucas Gerke and Landon Bail both captured first during the Camdenton Lakers Youth Tournament last Saturday at Camdenton High school.
Gerke, who competed in the 14U, 155-pound weight class, won both of his matches over Anthony Patinsky of Nixa and Nathan Mishvick of Eldon. As for Bail, who competed in the 14U, 235-pound weight class, he won best two out of three against Joshua Lewis of Terminator Wrestling Academy out of Springfield.
Wyatt Grizzle finished second in the 14U, 135-pound weight class. Grizzle lost to Layton Estes of Jefferson City and then defeated Jacob Debkins of Rolla and Jacob Padgett of Tri-Cap.
Peyton Hahn placed third in the 8-and-under, 100-pound weight class. While competing in an eight-man bracket, Hahn lost his semifinal match against Harrison Merriman of Monett 2-0 but then won his next match over Omar Ballinger of Jefferson City by a score of 6-2.
Hayden Tarr, who competed in the 8U, 55-pound weight class, and Hunter Tarr, who participated in the 8U, 65-pound weight class, both finished fourth overall at 2-2.
Joel Concannon, who competed in the 14U, 145-pound weight class, was 1-2 on the day after losing by tech fall to Ian Meyer of Monett in the semifinals and Luke Berry of Fulton 7-2 in the consolation semifinals.
Four youth wrestlers also took part in the 6U and Rookie State at St. Joseph Civic Center last Saturday.
Boonville had two rookie champions in Keandre Anderson at 14U, 165 pounds and Sean White at 12U, 145 pounds.
Also participating were Gaige Offineer at 10U, 135-pounds and Rylee West at 6U, 60 pounds.
