  • After losing to Marion County 50-48 last night in overtime in a Class 1 Sectional game at Sturgeon High School, the Glasgow Yellowjackets basketball team will look back to the free-throw line as to where the game was lost.
While hitting only 6 of 18 shots from the foul line for 33.3 percent, the Yellowjackets also struggled shooting the ball while connecting on 19 of 62 shots for 30.6 percent.
Glasgow coach Mick Cropp said  this was a very tough way for their season to come to an end last night.
“Even though the ending was not what we wanted it doesn’t diminish the success that we’ve had this year of the success that my seniors have had in their four years,” stated Cropp.
While the loss dropped out Glasgow’s season at 23-6 overall, the Yellowjackets had every chance to win the game against Marion County while leading 15-11 after one, 27-22 at the half and 34-29 after three quarters of play. However, in the final period, Marion County rallied back with a 15-10 advantage to tie the game at 44-all. Meanwhile, in the overtime period, the Mustangs held a 6-4 scoring edge to win the game by two.
Kason Spratt led the scoring attack in the game for Marion County with 18 points while Reed Plunkett chipped in nine points, all of which came from behind the three-point arc in the first half.
For Glasgow, Blake Hackman had 14 points while Joel Monnig added 10 points, 15 rebounds and one assist. Ethan Thompson had nine points, seven rebounds and six assists while Jimmie Wilson chipped in six points, six rebounds, two steals and one assist, Landon Brand with five points and six rebounds, Reid Littrell with four points and nine rebounds and Austin Stockhorst with three rebounds and one assist.
