While around 2,000 people in Cooper County remain without power, the only available option for many was to stay at a hotel. Area hotels in Boonville were either filled or close to full Tuesday night.
Sarah Elizabeth Keller posted her experience on the Boonville Daily News Facebook page.
"We stayed Tuesday night and had to stay again Wednesday night. I Have three kids and can't keep them at home for two days without heat or hot water!" Keller posted.
Manager of the Holiday Inn Express, Nick Patel, said they had 100 percent occupancy.
"Over 70 percent of our occupancy were people who had lost power because of the storm," Patel said.
Patel added that special accommodations were made with people who had pets. He said because of the conditions, he allowed pets in the hotel.
The Super 8 Motel reported 100 percent occupancy with all of the people staying because they had lost power.
Super 8 Motel Manager Christina Delius said the motel did the best they could.
CoMo Electric Cooperative released a statement saying crews from around the area would be helping to restore power.
