Worst winter storm since 2011 blizzard hits Boonville

Old man winter is back and is making a well over due appearance to the people of the Boonslick Area. According to the National Weather Service as much as seven inches of snow may fall in the Boonville area.
Boonville City workers were out in force throughout the morning making sure roads were clear even though city offices were closed. All area schools were closed in anticipation of the winter weather. Area schools are slated to be closed Friday as well.
Roads were deterorating quickly with reports from the Missouri Department of Transportation stating I-70 was quickly becoming covered and road crews were having trouble keeping up with the clearing.
According to the National Weather Service a mixture of snow and sleet is still being anticipated throughout the evening. Additional snow is expected into Friday.
