Ashley Manor raises money for animal shelter
The Ashley Manor Royal Court raised more than $808 (over $62 in pennies) for the Boonville Animal Shelter with more donations pending. Boonville Animal Control Officer Pam Paxton was on hand to accept the donations. She was very elated and talked about where the money would be used. She said the money would be used for blankets for the animals who are kept at the shelter.
Votes were tallied up for the winners of the Royal Court. King and Queen was awarded to Wilbur Graff and Edith Mofitt, Prince and Princess was awarded to Earl and Veronica O'Bryan. The Duke and Duchess was awarded to Wayne Kempf and Emma Smith.
Candidates were serenaded by Matthew Bishop, Brenda Humble and Cheryl Jensen, singing 'Close to You' along with Velma Lang accompanying on the guitar. The event was capped off with treats.
"The staff and residents wish to thank everyone for another successful Royal Court," Ashley Manor Activity Director, Velma Lang said.
