Love Notes garners a crowd full of laughter
Valentines Day was capped off with a showing of Love Notes: Love's Ups and Downs this past Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Turner Hall. The show, which was sponsored by the River Rats for the Arts, centered around a hotel known as the River Front Inn where guests either had come to get married or were looking for their long lost love.
An opening musical featuring all the cast opened the show at the hotel. Numbers featuring individual cast members singing love songs then proceeded. Love Notes veteran Mary Burge as well with Sherry Broyles on the twirling baton entertained the audience as well. While focussing on the ups, the downs of love also took center stage when characters focused on lost love, cheating and being told no. But, all was good at the end when a happy ending brought everyone together again.
A full band accompanied all the songs.
The show also featured a surprise appearance from Janelle Viertal, creator of Love Notes who sang as well.
Jennifer Davis who was in her second year of directing and played an opera singing character on Love Notes thanked the audience for coming to the show.
"Co-creating with this talented group of people has been deeply rewarding & loads of fun," Davis stated.
She also stated the audiences were wonderful.
"Their responses of laughter, cheer and affirmation fueled our fire to give it all," she stated.
