  • Cook wins by pin in quarters, Broyhill loses 7-3

  • Boonville senior wrestler Kyle Cook continued his run in the 220-pound weight class today by recording a first-period pin against Cameron’s Levi Marlay in 40 seconds.
    As for junior Andrew Broyhill, he will have to come back through the wrestlebacks after losing to Odessa’s Evan Young by a score of 7-3.
    Broyhill, 35-10 on the season, will wrestle Dexter’s Dylan Bazarian in the wrestlebacks this afternoon. Bazarian won by a pin over Tre Stewart of Kirksville in the first-round wrestlebacks on Thursday.
    Cook, meanwhile, will face Kirksville’s Logan Summers in the semifinals tonight.
    Cook improved to 41-4 on the season with the win over Marlay. Summers won by a 3-2 decision over Logan Nold of Clinton in the quarters.
