  • Boonville — Christian Illusionist Jeff Copeland will give a free performance Friday, February 22 at the Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church (across from the hospital) at 7 pm.
Copeland was named Magician of the Year for 2011 at the Missouri Magicians convention in Kansas City, and again named Magician of the Year at their convention in St. Louis in 2012. He was also named First Place Stage Magician Winter Carnival of Magic - 2012-2013, and First Place Close-up Midwest Magic Jubilee - 2012-2013.
Jeff Copeland is not a typical illusionist. His approach is personal, engaging and backed with a Biblical Seminary degree. A show with Copeland will take you right to the edge of your seat in wonder and back to relaxed with a little humor moments later. He seeks to be original and creative, bringing his personality to the stage with a few classic illusions along with fun ideas and effects you won't be able to see anywhere else! In Copeland's show each trick is carefully crafted to create wonder, usually with a bit of zany comedy, and every trick has a role to play in creating an environment where God can speak.
This event is live theater brought into the church. Every show is different because audience members participate through out the performance. Since the show is interactive, people feel a part of the action. This participatory teaching also helps people to learn, rather than just passively listening.
After a recent show, Pastor Ron Rich of Ashland Baptist Church said, "Jeff was funny, animated, and brought a sense of electricity to the atmosphere of our event. As he neared the end of his 'act,' he smoothly transitioned to a clear, concise presentation of the Gospel."
Copeland's illusions provide family friendly entertainment for all, but ultimately have a spiritual significance to be experienced. This ministry is a creative endeavor. It is not just a show for children (though kids love it). It is astonishing, comical, wild, mind-blowing, character-altering entertain
