Broyhill, Cook win opening round at state

The Boonville Pirates wrestling team went 2-0 at the state tournament today at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.

Junior Andrew Broyhill won his opening match against Mexico's Sam Fayad 7-2 in the 152-pound weight class. Senior Kyle Cook, meanwhile, recorded a third-period pin against Sumner's Marvin Brown in 5:11.

Broyhill and Cook will wrestle in the quarterfinal round of the state tournament on Friday starting at 9:30 a.m.
