Nikki Fuemmeler had 19 points and eight rebounds, and teammate Abby Thompson added 15 points, three steals and two assists as the Glasgow girls basketball team defeated Meadville Tuesday night in Glasgow by a score of 49-28.
The Lady Yellowjackets, 18-6 on the season, matched Meadville with 10 points in the first quarter but then outscored the Eagles 39-18 for the next-three quarters to garner the victory.
Glasgow coach Molly Monnig said the girls were very efficient offensively in the first half. “We were able to get the ball inside and score or kick it out for an open look,” Monnig said. “We really defended well most of the game also. The girls played extremely hard and that led to a lot of confidence on both ends of the floor.”
Trisha McMillan chipped in four points while Peyton Davis added three points, five steals and three assists, Erin Reynolds and Anne Reynolds also with three points each and Carley Brucks with two points.
Meadville was led by Haley Fitzpatrick with 10 points.
In the JV boys game, Glasgow defeated Meadville 36-34.
Daniel McMillan had 11 and Landon Brand 10 for the Yellowjackets.
