    Blackstone bowls 299-1/2

Have you ever come close to bowling a perfect game? It's unlikely that anyone has come closer than James Blackstone of Seattle, Washington. On February 11, 1905, blackstone was one ball away from bowling a 300-game. Unfortunately, he hit the pins so hard that 9 pins fell and the 10-pin broke, leaving the bottom half of it still standing. He scored a 299-1/2.
