While the loss dropped Boonville to 6-14 overall and 1-8 in the NCMC, head coach Jaryt Hunziker said his young team needs to be able to closeout ballgames when they have the opportunities.
“We got up by as many as eight in the second half but could not extend the lead when we needed to,” stated Hunziker said. “A couple of quick threes and a steal for a layup made it a ballgame again. Millie Moyer had one of her best nights offensively by scoring 12 points and knocking down a couple of mid-range shots when we needed them. Morgan and Aly also chipped in 12 and 11 points on the night.”

Page 2 of 2 - Boonville JV coach Ashley Freese said this was a good win for the girls. “Last time we played Hannibal they beat us by three points so the girls were ready for this game to try and get a win back,” Freese said. “They did a nice job. They were able to get several steals and turn them into layups or good transition with ball movement and get quick points. We still struggle with our offense but again the girls work hard on defense which is what has kept us in some of these close games. They are playing good and they are all stepping up and contributing when they are in. They have really improved since the first of the season.”
