Jasmyne Boggs and Madi Lyons each had 14 points, and teammate Aly Hundley chipped in 10 as the New Franklin Lady Bulldogs basketball team defeated Madison in CAC action Friday night at Madison 59-35.
New Franklin, 13-3 overall and 6-1 in the conference, opened the first half with a 33-16 lead against Madison and then outscored the Panthers 26-19 in the second half for the victory.
New Franklin coach Chris McGowan said this was a nice win to end a long week.
“We were able to get the ball inside to Jasmyne early in the game and get out to a comfortable lead which allowed us to work on some things,” McGowan said. “We have a challenging week ahead as we go to the Sturgeon Tournament.  This week will be a good measuring stick for us to see exactly where we are in this process of getting better as a basketball team.”
Aislinn Himmelberg tossed in six points while Derian Dodson and Jordan Winningham added four, Molly Lyons, Roxe’ Hendrix and Sara Montgomery each with two and Brittany Anderson with one.
Madison was led by Sam Legrand with 14 points.
