  • Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School is set for Catholic School's Week, an annual event that occurs throughout the nation beginning on the last Sunday in January continuing through February 2. This year Catholic School's Week will begin with a special Mass on Saturday, January 26 at 5:30 p.m. The school cantor choir will be leading the singing and students of the school will fill the liturgical roles of the service. Monday will begin with Pajama Day. Students will donate $1, which will be collected and put toward a need in the school community. The students will then will gather in the cafeteria to watch a movie and write thank you notes to people who serve in the Boonville community. Tuesday will follow with students dressing up in gear from their favorite sports teams, including jerseys, sweats and other sports like clothing. At 1 p.m., grades 1-4 will entertain the school with a game of hockey in the school gymnasium. A patriotic theme will be celebration on for Wednesday. Students will wear red, white, or blue shirts with their regular dress code pants. An all school Mass will be held at 8:15 a.m. Bingo will begin in the afternoon for the students. A vocation theme will be the center for Thursday. Students will come to school dressed as what the occumpation want to be when they grow up. During the day students will move from room to room listening to speakers talk about their careers and vocations. The afternoon will include grades 5-8 entertaining the school with a game of basketball, which will also take place in the school gymnasium. Friday will end the week with a carnival, Dr. Seuss theme. Students will be able to dress as they wish in crazy hats, socks or favorite Dr. Seuss character. The carnival will begin at 1:15 p.m. for the students of the school. The carnival will open again at 5 p.m., which will be open to the community. A chili supper will be offered from 5-7:30 p.m., which will be immediately followed with a family dance lasting until 9:30 p.m.
