Schneringer named CEO at Boonslick Heartland YMCA

Boonville, MO January 8, 2012 – Boonslick Heartland YMCA has announced the selection of Matt Schneringer as the new Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director of the Boonslick Heartland YMCA. An extensive national search was conducted under the direction of the Y of the USA following the departure of Theresa Hendrix, who accepted a CEO postion in Shawnee, Okla. Schneringer's background previous to service in the Y includes  a  Bachelor's  degree in Exercise Science from Augustana College, service in the Army, and a Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology from Minnesota State University. Schneringer served as Associate Executive Director of the Marshall, Minn. YMCA. He then moved on to serve as the CEO of the Osage Prairie YMCA in Nevada, Mo. While there, Matt provided strong leadership by improving the financial health of the organization, opening a new pool and growing membership and programs. After leaving Nevada, Matt became the CEO of the YMCA of the Northwoods in Rhinelander, Wisc. He set the stage to improve the fiscal health of the organization, implementing a plan which increased membership while continually looking for ways to better serve the needs of the community. Matt and his wife, Jennifer, have three children: Adam (11), Kate (8), and Caleb (6). He will begin work at the Y on Monday, February 4th.
