The Boonville boys sixth grade basketball team finished 1-1 last weekend at Hallsville by beating the host team 36-30 and then dropping a 37-33 decision against Mexico.
In the game against Hallsville, Malik Brazil had 13 points along with four steals, two rebounds and one blocked shot while Dylan Watson added eight points, 10 rebounds, two blocked shots and one steal, Kellen Brownfield also with eight points and four rebounds, Reece Lang with five points, three steals, three assists and one rebound, Cole Meisenheimer and Clayton Gochenour each with two rebounds, Trey Williams with one steal and Zach Watring with one rebound.
Boonville led Hallsville 15-12 at the half but had the game at 21-all after three. Meanwhile, in the final period, Boonville outscored the Indians 13-9.
In the game against Mexico, the Pirates got off to a slow start while trailing the Bulldogs 7-4 after one and 22-13 at the half. However, in the second half, Boonville outscored Mexico 20-15.
Malik Brazil had eight points, three rebounds, one steal and one assist in the game for Boonville.
Kellen Brownfield also chipped in eight points and four rebounds while Dylan Watson added five points, eight rebounds, three steals and one blocked shot, Zack Watring with four points and five rebounds, Reece Lang with two points, two rebounds, two steals and two assists, Trey Williams with two points, three rebounds and three steals, Cole Meisenheimer with two points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal, Tyler Schuster with two points, four rebounds and two steals and Clayton Gochenour with one rebound.
