Boonslick Shrine Club donates toys
The Boonslick Shriners Club has donated toys to the Marine Corps' premier community action program, Toys for Tots. Two toys, one for a girl and a boy, were purchased by each member of the club and gathered at their annual Christmas dinner. The toys were brought to the Central Missouri Community Action facility in Boonville Tuesday morning. "This is something we do every year. The Shriners are all about children," President of the Boonslick Shriners Club Tom Miller said. The local Shrine club is known for contributing to a number of children's activities such as taking fifth grade students of local schools to the Shriner Circus each year in Kansas City. Local Shriner Morris Carter said the Shriners have 22 hospitals around the United States which focus on treating children with medical conditions. The toys will stay in the area for distribution.
