Downtown Christmas preparations are underway
Wreaths are being hung, decorations are being placed and Boonville is starting to look a little more decked out. The downtown white lights have been turned on as preparations are underway for Downtown Boonville, Home for the Holidays. Assistant Tourism Director Sherry Broyles along with Special Projects Coordinator Kate Fjell were out Wednesday morning hanging wreaths at local businesses for the Wreath Walk this Saturday. Many store fronts will be decked out with these wreaths which were made by store owners or other individuals around Boonville. Different themed wreaths can be seen, from traditional to a non-traditional wreath made of pipes. These wreaths will be available for purchase on December 1. Broyles said that she can see people really getting into the spirit around Boonville. “I think there is a great sense of anticipation for the Christmas festivities. I am hearing a lot of suggestions of how we can grow the event,” Broyles said. The Candy Cane Boutique was taking shape Wednesday morning at Cooper's Oak Winery. The boutique will offer gifts under $10 for children to buy. Gifts range from little trinkets to earrings. Lorenz Electric was assisting with hanging banners downtown Thursday morning. The banners are a little different this year with two bells and a Happy Holidays logo on them. Broyles said most of the preparations were almost done by Thursday morning.
