BOONVILLE, Mo.— Night in Bethlehem is Christmas experience unlike any other. Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church is hosting a Christmas event on December 1 from 6 to 7 p.m. Participants of the event will become travelers who will journey in small groups to the different parts of Bethlehem.  Personal guides will lead participants through many places to experience the village of Bethlehem as it might have been the night Jesus was born.  Pastor Nick Campbell said, “We hope that for just one moment travelers feel like they are in the presence of Christ and that they know that this was and is God’s gift to them.” Travelers will visit the shops, see the animals, the live nativity and search for the special baby born that night. “Our hope is that this experience may fill travelers Christmas season with the desire to share hope and love with others. For God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten son,” said Melissa Baker, planning committee member for NMUMC. Baker said, “This is our fourth year for the event, and each year it has grown and became more interactive.” Nativity scenes will be on display in the fellowship hall following A Night in Bethlehem journey.
