The LSE Hawk wrestlers had another successful meet last week at the LSE gymnasium by recording wins in 24 out of 35 matches against a field that consisted of Carrollton, Knob Noster, Marshall and Versailles.
But better yet, the Hawks also had half of the wrestlers finish the meet unbeaten.
Versailles closed out the meet at 21-17 overall, followed by Marshall at 17-29, Carrollton at 14-15 and Knob Noster at 12-16.
LSE wrestling coach Jeff Francis said the Hawks continue to pound their opponents by winning their third straight tournament.
“We have a very talented core of wrestlers and their experience is rubbing off on the other wrestlers,” Francis said. “This year’s team is very aggressive and physical. Backing that up with some experience makes them tough against anybody.”
