Camdenton man dead after serious wreck

A Camdenton man is dead and a Sunrise Beach woman seriously injured after a an accident early Tuesday evening. John Garcia, 50, and Amber Rogers, 48, were traveling in a 2004 Oldsmobile on Bear Paw Road north of Camdenton when Garcia ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree. Camden County Medical Examiner Dee Ballard pronounced Garcia dead at the scene while a Staff for Life helicopter transported Rogers to University Hospital in Columbia. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. This is Troop F's 54th fatality for 2012.
